Whether caused by a soccer ball hitting a face, a fall off a fun bike, or a crash into another kid during recess, we know accidents happen.

Sometimes a tooth is loosened, chipped, knocked out, or even lost. This trauma to the mouth is often very upsetting and worrisome. Anxiety by a parent or caretaker can really set in when a child accidently has any kind of mouth trauma.

It is helpful if you can plan ahead. Know that accidents like this do happen. It is vital that a parents or caregiver stay strong and calm to help the child. Next, remember that time is of huge importance when an accident does happen. Fortunately, we are here to help you.

There are a few things you can do to keep damage to the child's teeth as minimal as possible. A cold bag of peas or ice can add comfort to a hurt tongue or tooth. If the child has missing teeth, seek to find them. Next, rinse each tooth off with water and place the teeth in a cup of milk. Make sure you contact our office immediately.
